LeoLabs, known for possessing the most extensive commercial catalog of objects in low Earth orbit (LEO), has been chosen to participate in the U.S. Space Systems Command’s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Tools Applications and Processing (TAP) Lab Apollo Accelerator.
This selection is a big deal for LeoLabs, allowing the company to demonstrate its cutting-edge AI-powered solutions for Combat Identification (ID) and Space Battle Management.

Tests for the system
LeoLabs CEO, Dan Ceperley, highlighted in a statement the importance of maintaining constant vigilance in space to prevent surprises and ensure security within the domain.
“As the commercial leader in all-weather, 24/7 radar coverage of low Earth orbit, we’re uniquely positioned to leverage the millions of data points we receive daily to build powerful AI tools that continuously monitor, characterize, and alert anomalous space activity.”
—Dan Ceperley, Chief Executive Officer, LeoLabs
Moreover, the LeoLabs’ team said is eager to showcase these innovative tools during the TAP Lab.
Over the three-month TAP Lab cycle, LeoLabs will rigorously test and refine its solutions for Space Domain Awareness by responding to a given scenario related to threat warning and assessment.
Notably, the company’s focus encompasses a range of solutions, including object characterization, maneuver detection, non-cooperative launch tracking, and patterns-of-life analysis, in addition to its management dashboards.

A company worth watching
Since 2016, LeoLabs has tried to position itself as a key player in transforming space operations by enhancing the visibility of over 20,000 objects in low Earth orbit.
The company operates a 24/7 virtual global space operations center, utilizing advanced technology to process millions of daily object measurements into critical insights for both commercial and government operators.
LeoLabs has established a global proliferated network of 10 radars, providing comprehensive coverage over the Southern Hemisphere, Northern Hemisphere, and Equator.
Additionally, in January the company announced the reception of a Consolidated Pathfinder order from NOAA’s Office of Space Commerce (OSC), for the development of the civil-led national Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS).
LeoLabs’ proprietary technology system, Vertex, is integral to its mission of transforming the way satellite operators, commercial enterprises, and federal agencies launch and track missions in low Earth orbit.
With one of the highest LEO coverage, real-time tracking, and powerful insights, the company continues to be a reliable partner for companies and governments alike, ensuring the safety, security, and sustainability of space operations.
