Today the US company Netcracker Technology announced the launch of its Digital Satellite Solution, a comprehensive blueprint for multi-orbit IT that revolutionizes management, optimization, and monetization for satellite operators worldwide.
New needs for satellite communications
In recent years, the market for low Earth orbit and geostationary satellite communications has grown exponentially and is set to expand even further. Significant opportunities are emerging to enhance telecommunications, particularly in rural areas, in an affordable manner.
However, this expansion of satellite services demands operational environments that are not yet prepared for massive digitalization and integration between satellite networks and terrestrial 4G/5G fixed networks.
Netcracker now aims to fill this gap with its new revolutionary service, leveraging the company’s 30-year-old leadership in telco Business Support System (BSS) and Operations Support Systems (OSS) digital transformation and its extensive experience in powering advanced LEO and GEO satellite networks.
As said by Grant Lenahan, Partner and Principal Analyst at Appledore Research, “LEO satellite communication has many moving parts that impact capacity availability, SLAs, and the ability to isolate issues and support customers in very fundamental ways, necessitating an entirely new suite of systems.”
